Wish for the past, Hope for the future.

I find out something interesting conversation with my friend. We were talking about not thinking of the future too much and think about 'now' rather than the past and the future. Future can change unpredictable. For example, tomorrow we plan that we're gonna have barbecue in the afternoon and end up with no afternoon barbecue. So basically, we can hope to the plans but we couldn't wish it to happen because anything could happen in a click of the clock. My friend and I were talking about my situation last few nights ago. I was thinking towards the future too much. I was thinking that when will I meet my girlfriend again? I know I can meet her on the month of April next year but what about after April? What will happen next right? No one knows including myself. So I started to get really worried about it. Thinking that would be my last time meeting her. So my friend explain to me something that is really reasonable for my answers. He told me that not to think about the future but just to think about this moment and now. At first I don't really understand what did he wanted to say. So he told me something like this...

"Don't plan or think about the future because future is unpredictable and plans are unreliable. Anything can happen in just a few seconds. It's because we can't see the future and so as you right? Maybe things will work out pretty well in the future and maybe things won't work as you or even I planned. And also, don't start to plan too early because plans is sometimes gonna work out and sometimes it won't. For example, you said that you plan to go to the beach next week and suddenly on the week you've plan to go to the beach rains. Then all the plans are change unexpected right? So it's basically the same as right now."

So as it think back of all his words, I found that of what he has said is really true. I planned something but sometimes it didn't work out as it plans and sometimes it does.

Sometimes we wish to have something in life right? But majority our wish didn't come through. Lets put it this way, on our birthday. Before blowing up the candle, we have to make a wish right? So lets say that the wish we made is something like this "I wish to have straight A's in my exams" but it turns out that you didn't get everything A's in the exam. But HOPE is another words and meaning. We use to say "I hope I'll pass my exam with flying colors" and it did actually. Our exam didn't went too bad and didn't went too good but it was good enough to see. Hope is something that can happen and sometimes can't but most of the time (for myself), it went pretty well.

To say a WISH, it could only say only when things have already happen. For example, lets say you've regretted doing something like breaking up with your girlfriend/boyfriend due to something silly and now you're miserable without the person you love the most while he/she is really having a happy life. So most probably we would say "How I wish I didn't break up with him/her. I would be happy together with him/her by now". Most of the time, WISH are used when we regret doing something or something that we didn't had the chance to do.

And as for HOPE, is to be said for the future. From my experience, I hope that I could keep long hair and dye my hair to the color that I've been wanting. And it actually came through. So basically HOPE is the words that are use in the future to hope things to be happen in our life or other people's life. Another common example that most people would use is "I hope that she/he are happy with her/his new relationship" something like that right? Well, sometimes hope happens for good and sometimes it doesn't.

That's why I said...

"Wish For The Past, Hope For the Future"
